      I'm just starting out with my photography, I had to choose between this & the Nikkon 5100. There was a video that compared the two cameras but I went with the Canon as overall, it had a much better & easier operating system to use, & the the things the Nikkon 5100 had over the Canon were more to do with video shooting, which I don't plan on doing as much. Definitely worth it, but I'd suggest doing a bit of research before you buy.

        Having done a lot of research into Several cameras I had choosen the Canon, for it's ease of use, and capabilities.
        However upon opening the box, and unpacking the camera, I wasn't impressed at all, the camera felt very plastic and not at all as sturdy as several other cameras I've tried / owner before.
        Have packed the camera back up and sending it back

        Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
