MPN: DC56 EAN: 5025155015940

DC56 is the first Dyson Hard cordless vacuum cleaner, engineered for hard floor cleaning.

It has patented Root Cyclone technology and is powered by the Dyson digital motor V2 which spins at up to 104,000 times a minute. It's the only vacuum cleaner to combine powerful suction and a wet wipe to remove both dust and grime in a single action.

The Double-edge cleaner head has dual suction channels providing suction before and after the wipe. The floating wipe plate holds the wipe in place and allows pressure on stains without hindering manoeuvrability. Its swivel neck allows it to be guided into awkward places with a twist of the wrist. And its low-profile cleaner head stays flat to the floor even when fully reclined.

DC56 is also extremely adaptable. When only suction is required, it can be used without the wipe plate. As well as hard floors, it cleans high up with a long reach wand and tools for hard to reach places. And the wand is detachable so DC56 can also be used as a handheld vacuum.

There are two types of grime-removing Dyson wipes available for the Dyson Hard cordless vacuum. Hard floor wipes are suitable for most sealed hard floors, while Wood nourishing wipes clean, protect and restore shine to wood floors. The wipes are quick and easy to replace.

DC56 uses a fade-free lithium-ion battery. The trigger grip releases instantly, meaning battery power is only used for cleaning. It gives 15 minutes of cleaning time, or 6 minutes on boost mode for more difficult tasks.

All Dyson machines are tested rigorously during development, so DC56 comes with a 2 year parts and labour guarantee.

Product Features

  • The only cylinder vacuum with a Dyson digital motor
Seven years in development, the Dyson digital motor V4 is one of the world's smallest fully-integrated 1050W motors. By integrating its mechanical, electrical and aerodynamic systems, Dyson engineers have created an efficient, power-dense package with a diameter of just 85mm. DC49 has only been made possible by the development of this motor.
  • The latest turbine head with carbon fiber filaments
The floor tool has been re-engineered to improve pick-up and sound quality, and reduce weight. Simplified airways decrease noise levels and a self-tightening mechanism keeps the brush bar stable. A dust capture channel prevents dirt from escaping back to the floor, increasing pick-up. The configuration of carbon fiber filaments and nylon brushes removes fine dust from hard floors and ground-in dirt from carpets.
  • Ball technology
Key components engineered within the smallest Dyson ball yet. Ball technology has been made possible with DC49 because of the small size of the Dyson digital motor V4. Its small size allows it to fit inside a ball that is just 200mm in diameter. DC49 turns on the spot, providing enhanced manoeuvrability from a machine with a small overall footprint. The introduction of the ball has also allowed engineers to reposition the hose centrally at the base of the bin, leading to a more balanced chassis arrangement. It utilizes an articulating hose cuff, which rotates through 90° to control how the machine moves. This enables it to steer around obstacles and follow the user around the room, reducing collisions and increasing stability.
  • Radial Root Cyclone technology
Dyson has been continually refining cyclone vacuum technology since inventing it more than 20 years ago. Reconfigured air channels and improved flow efficiency reduce turbulence and preserve air pressure, so the inner cyclones can extract more microscopic particles. Dyson engineers have also made many iterative changes to reduce sound levels and improve sound quality within the cyclones.
  • Acoustic engineering
Acoustics are at the heart of the Dyson design process. Improvements have been made to the DC49 ball, cyclones and floor tools to reduce sound levels and improve sound quality. The small size and power density of the Dyson digital motor V4 made these changes possible.
