  • Revell Battle of Britain Gift-Set. Includes 1:72 plastic model kits of Hurricane Mk1, Heinkel HE111 H-3, Junkers JU 87B 'Stuka', Spitfire Mk1. Finely detailed models. Superb decals. Includes the essential paints, professional glue and a brush. The legendary Battle of Britain represented a significant turning point during the Second World War. In preparation for the invasion, in the summer months of 1940, the German Air Force started massive attacks on British towns and RAF aerodromes. On lst July 1940, RAF Fighter Command had fewer fighter planes and pilots than the Luftwaffe. Until September 1940 therefore small air defence units had been principally used in order to retain sufficient reserves. By the beginning of August the Luftwaffe had already lost over 300 aircraft in attacks on English ships and ports. However the achievement of air superiority in the airspace over the south of England was considered to be a fundamental requirement for a successful invasion. The German air force command was convinced that the RAF fighter defences could be eliminated by a battle of attrition. The aim was to force the RAF fighter squadrons into battle and destroy them. Since 1937 radar stations had been set up along the British coasts. These enabled early detection of incoming German bomber formations. The German command underestimated the effectiveness of this system. 13th August 1940 - Eagle Day - marked the beginning of a series of major attacks against RAF installations, coastal radar stations and Royal Navy bases. From 7th September the focus of the bombing raids moved to the London area, primarily carried out by the He 111 and Ju 87. For the first time the attackers were countered by numerous British fighter units.

  • Star Wars Easykit X-wing Fighter. Quickly assembled - no glueing required. No painting required - multicolour printed. This is the most important rebel alliance fighter and one of the most powerful single-seat space ships ever produced. The T-65 X-wing Fighter owes its name to the double wings one above the other that form an X in combat in order to increase the firing range of the pilot. In addition to four high-energy laser cannon the X-wing Fighter has proton torpedoes, deflector shields, hyper drive and a navigation droid. Luke Skywalker prefers this type of fighter. It was used by the young Jedi to destroy the first Death Star in the Battle of Yavin. The X-wing Fighter quickly proved to be one of the most effective military aircraft in the galaxy. The unusual wing design of the T-65 is frequently regarded as the success formula of the space ship. The pair of twin wings remains closed during normal flights under the speed of light. In combat and on entry into the atmosphere of a planet, they can be extended. On the wing tips are high-energy laser cannon that can be fired singly, simultaneously, in pairs or in other combinations. Quickly assembled - no glueing required. Age from 8 years.
