It has come to the attention of Ted Baker that the rivet attachment for the bow has fallen below their rigorous quality standards and may detach during wear. This could cause a potential choking hazard.

Recaro SmartClick Base

Recaro Child Safety is implementing a replacement program for its Recaro SmartClick base, which can be used with the child seat Optia. Only Recaro fix bases of a clearly defined production batch are affected. The replacement program is free of charge for customers.

In dynamic tests conducted as part of comparison testing by Stiftung Warentest and Which?, the seat separated from the Isofix base. Recaro Child Safety takes this test result very seriously. The company therefore implemented numerous measures after receiving this information to analyse the reason for the behaviour of the product reported by Stiftung Warentest and Which?.

What you need to do?

For Recaro Child Safety, customer safety is the top priority. To determine if their product is affected and, if so, to directly register for the replacement program. The customer will need the serial number of the product which can be found on a label on the underside of the Recaro Optia.

At the Recaro Child Safety website at www.recaro-cs.com, customers can find more information about the replacement program. The company has also set up a hotline to answer questions. The service team is available daily from 5 am to 9 pm and can be reached on Freephone number 0800 0830 128.

Hotpoint Fridge Freezers

We have been made aware of an incident involving a Hotpoint branded Fridge Freezer, manufactured between March 2006 and July 2009, model numbers FF175BP (white) and FF175BG (graphite).

To check if your appliance is affected, please visit www.hotpointservice.co.uk/fridgefreezer. Your model and serial number is usually located on a sticker behind the salad container.

If you are the owner of one of these Fridge Freezers, please complete the on-line form and Hotpoint will update you when further information is available.

Alternatively, use Hotpoints Live Chat system or call their customer service department on their freephone hotline: 0800 316 3826.

At this stage, pending further investigation, there is no specific reason for you to switch off your fridge freezer.

Dimplex Portable Dehumidifier

Notice added 9th June 2017.

A safety issue has been identified with a batch of Dimplex portable dehumidifiers.

A component in the product may overheat, resulting in the product catching fire.

Affected products can be identified by the serial number, which is located on the product rating plate. This is accessible by removing the water tank.

Affected products have a serial number starting with 501 through to 522.

Dehumidifiers with a different model number or that start with a different serial number are not affected.

What to do if you have an affected dehumidifier

STOP USING IT immediately by switching it off at the mains socket and then unplug the dehumidifier from the socket.

All affected Customers are advised to contact Dimplex as soon as possible to receive a free replacement product.

Beko Dryer

Notice added 30th May 2017.

Beko Plc are initiating a voluntary repair programme as a precautionary measure to locate affected 8kg & 9kg Beko and Blomberg condenser tumble dryers manufactured between May and October 2012.

As part of our ongoing product monitoring, we have identified a production batch with a faulty component supplied by a third party. In rare circumstances, the component could fail and overheat, potentially leading to a risk of fire.

Model affected:

  • Item number PE521, Beko DCU8230 condenser dryer

Check the model and serial number of your 8kg Beko Condenser Tumble Dryer using the appliance checker on Beko's website at www.beko.co.uk/dryerrepair.

If your product is affected, then complete the online form to arrange a free-of-charge engineer visit to modify your product.

HP Batteries

Expansion of the HP Notebook Computer Battery Safety Recall and Replacement Program of June 2016 - Additional Batteries Affected.

HP urges customers to recheck all potentially affected products.

Dear Valued HP Customer,

In cooperation with various government regulatory agencies HP has announced an expansion of its ongoing worldwide voluntary safety recall and replacement program for certain notebook batteries, which was announced in June 2016.

The program has been expanded to include additional batteries that were shipped with the same notebook products. The affected batteries were shipped with specific HP, Compaq, HP ProBook, HP ENVY, Compaq Presario, and HP Pavilion Notebook Computers, sold worldwide from March 2013 through October 2016, and/or were sold as accessories or spares, or provided as replacements through Support.

The batteries have the potential to overheat, posing a fire and burn hazard to customers. HP's primary concern is for your safety. Because affected batteries pose a fire and burn hazard, it is extremely important to check whether your battery is affected.

It is essential to recheck your battery, even if you did so previously and were informed that it was not affected. Note: if you have already received a replacement battery, you are not affected by this expansion.

Please go immediately to the HP Battery Recall website at https://www.hp.com/go/batteryprogram2016 to check if your battery is affected by this expanded recall program. If the validation process indicates that your battery is affected, cease use of the battery immediately and remove it from the notebook.

HP will provide a replacement battery for each verified, affected battery at no cost. You may continue to use your notebook without the battery installed by connecting the notebook to external power. To order a free replacement battery if eligible, go to the HP Battery Recall website at: https://www.hp.com/go/batteryprogram2016.

Note: Not all batteries in all HP, Compaq, HP ProBook, HP ENVY, Compaq Presario, and HP Pavilion Notebook Computers are affected. The validation process may show that your battery is not affected by this expanded recall program, in which case you may continue to use the battery in your possession, and a replacement is not necessary.

We have identified a potential safety issue with the following toddler styles:

The buttons on the coat may become detached and become a potential choking hazard.

Indesit, Hotpoint and Swan Condenser Dryers

Whirlpool have advised us that as of today 22nd February 2017 they are amending their existing advice to customers affected by this tumble dryer issue.

Customers who are currently awaiting a modification had previously been advised that they could continue to use their product, provided they monitored the machine whilst in use and cleaned the filter after use.

The new advice is to 'not use the machine whilst awaiting modification and to unplug it'.

Whirlpool has identified a potential risk in some tumble dryers it manufactured between April 2004 and October 2015 under the Indesit, Hotpoint, Creda and Swan brands.

What's the issue?

In some rare cases, excess fluff can come into contact with the heating element of the tumble dryer and present a risk of fire. The fire risk occurs if the user doesn't regularly clean the lint filter in-line with the operating instructions.

How can I find out if my dryer has been affected?

Whirlpool has contacted affected customers asking them to visit its website or phone its dedicated helpline to confirm whether their appliance is one of those affected by this issue. If it is, Whirlpool will arrange for an engineer to visit customers and modify the appliance, free of charge, to remove the fire risk.

If you want to find out if your dryer is affected, please contact Whirlpool's dedicated hotline or website. If your dryer was purchased from October 2015, it is NOT an affected model. However, it's important to continue to properly clean and maintain your dryer, as outlined in the user manual.

Can I still use my tumble dryer if it is affected?

Whirlpool has said that customers are advised not to use the machine whilst awaiting modification and to unplug it.

Shouldn't you repair my dryer?

Whirlpool are managing all repairs. The corrective activity they are undertaking has been agreed with, and is being monitored by, Trading Standards.

Shouldn't you replace my tumble dryer?

Whirlpool are undergoing a process to repair affected tumble dryers. The corrective activity they are undertaking has been agreed with, and is being monitored by, Trading Standards. Customers are advised to contact Whirlpool to find out if their tumble dryer is affected.

Why will it take so long for Whirlpool to fix my dryer?

Whirlpool is managing a large volume of repairs and is urging those with affected machines to be patient while they work through appointments. Whirlpool have advised that the necessary modifications are being made on a first registered, first served basis. If you have any questions around the process for repairs, please contact the Whirlpool helpline.

What if my home insurance company says I'm not insured to use the product whilst I'm awaiting the modification?

Provided you are following Whirlpool's instructions - cleaning your lint filter after each use and not leaving it unattended when in use - your insurance should not be impacted. If in doubt, you can check this with your insurance company.

Mamas and Papas Car Seat

Following a series of safety checks, Mamas & Papas have identified a potential safety concern with a number of car seats that were sold through Asda, Tesco, Very, Littlewoods and some independent retailers. They were also sold through the Mamas & Papas website and our factory stores. In the event of an accident the car seat shell may crack and therefore not provide the intended level of protection to the user.

The seats affected are Mamas & Papas Nembus, Mamas & Papas Aureus, Mamas & Papas Group 123, Mamas & Papas Altair. All are Group 123 car seats. You can identify the seat by comparing the orange label on the back with the one shown above. The approval number should match and is 04 44596.

For their convenience a designated courier service will collect the car seat. They will be issued with a refund or replacement.

Alternatively, they can bring your car seat into a Mamas & Papas store and their advisors will issue a refund or a suitable replacement product. Please note, proof of purchase is not required.

Recaro Child Safety is implementing a replacement program for its Recaro fix base, which can be used with the child seat Optia and the infant carrier Privia. Only Recaro fix bases of a clearly defined production batch are affected. The replacement program is free of charge for customers. During testing it was found that a particular production batch of the Recaro fix base does not meet the quality standards of Recaro Child Safety even though it fulfills the ECE-R44/04 approval standard.

What you need to do?

For Recaro Child Safety, customer safety is the top priority more information on the replacement program can be found on the website at https://safety.recaro-cs.com. You will also find an online tool with which they can check if your product is affected, and with which you can register for the replacement program. The affected products can be identified by serial numbers on stickers on the product underside of the Recaro fix base. Affected serial numbers ER01000000 up to and including ER01017825. No other Recaro fix base stations are affected by this problem.

Faro Upholstery Range

We have identified a manufacturing issue with our Faro range. The issue is with how the pin tuck detail on the back cushions has been secured, and a modification to these cushions is required.

Consumer safety is their top priority and as a precaution they have taken the decision to modify this product. We have therefore arranged for our Furniture repair specialist (Ecomaster) to carry out the required modifications.

What you need to do?

You don't need to do anything - Ecomaster will contact all affected customers.
