The Sigma 17-40mm F1.8 DC Art combines the versatility of a zoom lens with a constant F1.8 aperture, offering prime-like performance for low-light scenes and large bokeh effects. Its advanced optical design, including high-precision aspherical lenses, delivers excellent resolution and contrast. By correcting axial chromatic aberration and sagittal coma flare, the lens renders fine details with stunning clarity even wide open.

The zoom range extends beyond its predecessor, covering 25.5-60mm in 35mm format (approx. 27.2-64mm for Canon RF), allowing wide-angle tabletop shots and telephoto portraits without changing lenses. Sigma's Super Multi-Layer Coating reduces flare and ghosting, producing rich, high-contrast images in all conditions.

The inner zoom mechanism keeps the lens length constant, enhancing stability for hand-held, tripod, or gimbal use while resisting dust and water. Over 30% lighter than the 18-35mm F1.8 DC HSM | Art, with a 67mm filter thread, it remains surprisingly portable for APS-C travel, everyday photography, and video. The dust- and splash-resistant build and water- and oil-repellent front coating ensure durability outdoors.

Two assignable AFL buttons provide flexible control in landscape or portrait orientations (functions depend on camera; FUJIFILM X Mount uses an AF function button for AF lock/operation).
